Real-grass patches work well for small dogs, but they're impractical at big-dog scale. The largest standard grass patches are under 4 square feet, while a Great Dane needs room to circle and fully clear the edges (our 37"x54" pad is nearly 14 square feet). Grass subscriptions also cost several times more per month than disposable pads at giant-breed volume. For big dogs indoors, a correctly sized high-absorbency pad is the more workable option.
